With music and lyrics by multi-Oscar, Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Pippin, The Prince of Egypt, The Hunchback of Notre Dame) and a book by Tony Award-nominee Winnie Holzman, Wicked is currently the ninth longest-running West End musical of all time, having been seen at the Apollo Victoria Theatre London by over ten million people.
Two-time Tony-winner Joe Mantello directs this “devilishly clever spin on The Wizard of Oz” (The Daily Telegraph), with musical staging by Tony-winner Wayne Cilento.

An emotional and unforgettable experience.– STEVE ALLEN, LBC
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, Wicked imagines a beguiling backstory to the lives of L. Frank Baum’s beloved characters, and reveals the magic that shaped the destinies of two unlikely friends on their remarkable journey to becoming Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
After the continuing success of the Broadway run, two US tours, two UK tours, and countless international productions, Wicked recently celebrated fifteen triumphant years at the Apollo Victoria Theatre. This essential West End musical is the winner of over 100 major international awards, including three Tony Awards, two Olivier Awards, a Grammy Award and ten theatregoer voted WhatsOnStage Awards (including three for ‘Best West End Show’).
West End star Lucie Jones (Waitress, Les Misérables) plays the role of Elphaba, with Helen Woolf returning to continue her acclaimed performance as Glinda. The Olivier-nominated Sophie-Louise Dann (The Girls) stars as Madame Morrible, with stage and screen legend Gary Wilmot (Anything Goes, The Prince of Egypt) featuring as The Wizard. Ryan Reid (Dreamgirls) plays Fiyero. Carina Gillespie (Nessarose), Nicholas McLean (Boq), and Simeon Truby (Doctor Dillamond) all continue in their starring roles.
Wicked is suitable for a general audience. As a guide to parents and guardians, it is recommended for ages 7+. Please note that loud noises, flashing lights, smoke effects and strobe lighting feature in the production.
The producers cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist, which is always subject to illness, injury and statutory leave entitlement.

Should you wish to arrive in a wheelchair and transfer into a theatre seat, we can store your wheelchair in a nearby location to be brought to you when required.

Please notify a member of the Front of House team of your arrival and they will call for the Access Host, who will organise operation of the lifts for you. If you wish to make your visit more special, we also have an Ambassador lounge available to book which is level access and can be found as you enter the theatre via the Vauxhall Bridge Road entrance in the main foyer.
The Apollo Victoria auditorium is equipped with Sennheiser MobileConnect WiFi sound amplification system. MobileConnect uses WiFi to deliver superior quality audio to a smart device such as an iPod or iPhone, either through headphones or via a necklace for hearing aid users. The sound levels can be adjusted on your device to suit your needs and our access host will be happy to assist you with this. Devices can be booked via the box office in advance, borrowed on the day, or alternatively patrons can download the Sennheiser MobileConnect app and use their own device. Although we have devices to borrow, we do recommend that patrons download the app so as not to miss out if we run out. Patrons are advised to book Stalls A-P for the best signal.
