Welcome to Hill Valley! Take an electrifying ride back in time as the 1985 blockbuster film and pop culture phenomenon arrives in London’s West End as a groundbreaking new musical adventure!

When Marty McFly finds himself transported back to 1955 in a time machine built by the eccentric scientist Doc Brown, he accidentally changes the course of history. Now he’s in a race against time to fix the present, escape the past and send himself… back to the future.

Adapting this iconic story for the stage are the movie’s creators Bob Gale (Back to the Future trilogy) and Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump). The production features original music by multi-Grammy winners Alan Silvestri (Avengers: Endgame) and Glen Ballard (Michael Jackson’s Man in the Mirror), alongside hit songs from the movie including The Power of Love, Johnny B. GoodeEarth Angel and Back in Time.

We aren’t able to admit any children under the age of 4 and every customer must have their own ticket. To help us make sure everyone enjoys the show, your little ones need to be able to sit in their own seat without any assistance.

The show includes flashing lights, strobe effects, smoke and pyrotechnics throughout.

Please note the producers cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular artist. The schedule is subject to change and may be affected by contracts, holiday, illness or events beyond the producers’ control.

We are working hard to ensure the safety of all patrons and performers. Due to Covid-19 safety measures, we are unable to accept gifts or items for signing and there will be no public access to Stage Door. The cast won’t be able to sign items or take photos when entering or leaving the building.

If you would like to enquire about making an Access booking for Back to Future: The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre but you are not currently registered with the LW Theatres Access Scheme, you can email our Box Office staff with your contact details at: access@adelphitheatre.co.uk.

A member of the team will be in touch as soon as possible to arrange your booking over the phone. Alternatively, you can find information about how to make a booking online by becoming a member of the LW Theatres Access Scheme here: https://lwtheatres.co.uk/accessibility/.

If you are already a member of the LW Theatres Access Scheme and have received your confirmation email confirming your unique customer ID number, you will be able to make a booking online for Back to Future: The Musical at the Adelphi Theatre. Please follow the instructions below to make your booking.

Selecting your seats

  1. Click Book Tickets.
  2. Select your preferred performance date and click through to the seating plan.
  3. Click the login button on the top right-hand side of the screen, using your registered email address.
  4. Click Forgotten Password if you need to reset your password.

Access pricing

  1. Select your preferred seats on the seating plan by clicking on an available seat. Seats in grey are unavailable.
  2. A pop-up box will appear with a list of available seat price options. This will include a Full Price option as well as any available accessible pricing options. If you are unable to find seats suited to your specific access requirements online then please contact the Box Office.
  3. You can select up to a maximum two tickets at an access price. If you accidentally add too many tickets at an access price, you will receive an error message.

If registered to attend the performance with a Personal Assistant, you can select a Personal Assistant ticket at no additional charge, plus one ticket at Full Price or one at an available accessible ticket price. The £1.70 fee displayed for Personal Assistant tickets will be subtracted when you are ready to pay.

Any additional tickets can be purchased at full price.

Several accessible seats have been held back that are unavailable to those not registered with our Access Scheme, including both transferrable and non-transferrable wheelchair positions. If you have registered as a Wheelchair user, you will see a wheelchair symbol on all our designated non-transferable seats as well as a selection of our best transferrable seats in the front Stalls. All our aisle seats in the Stalls are suitable for transferring from a wheelchair.

Getting to the Adelphi Theatre

Arrival

A ramp on the right hand side of the main entrance provides step-free access to the theatre through an automatic door. The Box Office is located on the right hand side as you enter the foyer and a low level counter is available for those who require it.

An accessible toilet is available at the far end of the foyer on the left hand side. The bar in the main foyer, the Vivian Ellis Bar at the front of the Stalls auditorium, the Cloakroom, and the confectionery and souvenir kiosks all have step-free access.

Getting to Adelphi Theatre

Customers with Access requirements is via the main entrance of the theatre on Strand. The nearest parking bays for registered Blue Badge holders are in John Adam Street (approximately 90 metres from our main entrance), Henrietta Street (approximately 125 metres from our main entrance) and William IV Street (approximately 160 metres from our main entrance). Please note, these spaces are limited in number.

The nearest mainline station to the theatre is Charing Cross and step-free access to the trains is available. The nearest TFL Underground station to the theatre is also Charing Cross (Bakerloo and Northern lines), but this does not have step-free access. The nearest Underground Station with step-free access is Westminster (District, Circle and Jubilee lines), approximately 1km from our main entrance. After leaving Westminster Station, customers should proceed along Whitehall. When they reach Trafalgar Square they should turn right onto the Strand and the Theatre is located on the left hand side.

Access to Performance, Seating and Viewing Areas

The Stalls auditorium has level access and there are three dedicated wheelchair park spaces in Row X. Any aisle seat in the Stalls can be used for customers wishing to transfer from a wheelchair into a theatre seat.

The Dress and Upper Circle levels of the auditorium can only be accessed via routes including stairs:

  • Dress Circle – 41 steps from Ground Floor
  • Upper Circle – 71 steps from Ground Floor

Our trained access hosts will be available to assist visually impaired customers upon arrival and throughout their visit if required.

An Infra-Red audio enhancement system is available for deaf or hearing-impaired patrons. Headsets and hearing aid loops are available from our Cloakroom located in the main foyer. Please advise the operator of this requirement when booking your tickets to ensure you are seated in a suitable area of the auditorium.

In conjunction with the Producer of each show, the Adelphi Theatre hosts periodic accessible performances, including Audio-described, Captioned, BSL Interpreted and Relaxed performances.

Services and Facilities

There is a cloakroom available. Items can be checked in for £1 each.

Our staff are on hand throughout your visit to assist with any purchases you may wish to make. If you are unable to access the bars or kiosks then we can offer an in-seat service. Please speak to our access host upon arrival.

Accessible Toilets

The Adelphi Theatre has one accessible toilet located at ground level off the main foyer and close to the entrance to the Stalls seating.

There are further standard toilets located inside the Stalls auditorium. The Gents has step-free access and the Ladies can be accessed via 2 steps.

Bars

The Foyer Bar, Foyer Kiosk, Merchandise Kiosk (foyer) and Vivian Ellis Bar (Stalls) all have step-free access.

Assistance Dogs

Assistance dogs are welcome in the Adelphi Theatre. Our staff are always happy to look after your access dog for you whilst you enjoy your visit.

Medical Requirements

If you need to bring medication, food or drink to manage a medical condition, or medical equipment you are welcome to do so. Please ask to speak to a manager when you arrive before going through our security searches. Please note, we are not in possession of any medical equipment.

Evacuation Policy

Our access hosts are trained in how to assist customers with access requirements in case of an emergency. These staff members will be specifically allocated to assist any customers with access requirements in an emergency situation.

Strobe and Lighting Effects

Strobe and flashing lights are regularly used during performances at the Adelphi Theatre. For more information, please call our Stage Door on 020 7836 1166 and ask to speak to a manager.
